Bring your own picnic of a dish to share for 6 to 8 people, some folding chairs, and games to share.
The park has 2 covered pavilions with a total of 13 picnic tables, a children’s play area, basketball court,
baseball diamond, and lots of open space for other games like badminton, corn hole and such.
There are bathrooms, a parking area, and well behaved leashed dogs are O.K.
“ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED IN ANY COUNTY FACILITY,” no open fires, no citronella candles, balloons, no amplified music.

We are thrilled to announce our guest speaker for the March 12th meeting is local author and historian extraordinaire, Jeff LaHurd. Jeff will give a visual presentation of Sarasota from the Great Depression era to post World War ll.
Jeff, is a resident of Whitfield-Ballentine Manor and has authored 15 very interesting and historical books. We will have books available to purchase. (Cash or Checks only)

Renewable energy is a hot topic these days and we are pleased to have a presentation on residential solar energy. The Manatee Solar Co-op, a nonprofit, volunteer group, provides information on residential solar panels and through the use of a buyer’s co-op, makes the choice more affordable and a representative will be explaining how the program works.

The Whitfield Ballentine Association Board of Directors has heard you! Guest speakers for our November 13th meeting, County Commissioner Robin DiSabatino, Captain Gerkin from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, and Code Enforcement representatives will answer questions and concerns (including flooding) about our neighborhood and county. A representative from Sarasota-Bradenton Airport (SRQ) will update us on the improvements they have made in the neighborhood as well as future projects.
Pursuant to our By-Laws, November is the Annual Meeting of the Association. At this meeting we will elect new Board members, address By-Law amendments, and present a Summary Report of the audit of the Treasurer’s books and accounts.
Article V – Meetings
g. Any Regular, Annual or Special Meeting or meeting of the Board of Directors may be adjourned from time to time or to a specified time upon due notice. Any such Meeting may be suspended, postponed or canceled in the event of a pending or actual catastrophic event, or its aftermath, in the judgement of a quorum of the Board of Directors.
Article VII – Officers and Directors
e. Any vacancy occurring on the Board may be filled by the affirmative vote of the majority of the remaining Directors. A vacancy that will occur at a specific latre date may be filled before the vacancy occurs. However, the new Director may not take office until the vacancy occurs. The term of a Director eleccted to fill a vacancy shall expire at the next Annual Meeting.
